I’ve heard amazing fantastic great things about this brand so I was sooooooooooooo excited to see if it was worth all the hype.
Just about anything can be used as a justification for a make up haul. Had a long stressful week at work? Buy make up. Feeling down? Buy make up. Need the toilet? Buy make up. Pretty much anything…
In my local Boots store (aka my second home – it’s got to the point where staff are almost on first name terms with me) they have recently got a double stand full of mesmerising Nyx make up; as soon as I laid eyes on all the pretty products it was the perfect justification for this haul.
The foundation, contour stick & hd finishing powder are out of this world. I was so impressed with the impeccable quality of the powder (gives a flawless finish, reduces pores and adds radiance to skin without being cakey). The contour stick is so conveniently small that you can bring it around everywhere with you, and comes in several shades. It is so easy to use, even for complete contour virgins. The packet also has simple instructions for best use.
The lipglosses are fairly priced, they also smell and taste gorgeous (don’t judge me the wind blew my hair into my gloss and somehow I got a sneaky taste).
Their angled brushes and eyebrow dip (not pictured) are ESSENTIAL for perfect brows (more to come on achieving perfect brows soon).
Their products seem to offer more than the bog standard drug store brand.
Their brand tag line is : ‘professional make up’ and initially I thought this was a far fetched description. But, honestly Nyx make up (everything I’ve tried so far) is hard to match. The prices are competitive and the quality is, indeed, professional. It doesn’t feel like high street make up. It feels like what a professional make up artist would use, and having access to that is a real luxury.
Final score: 9/10
