The Body Shop Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Clay wash exclusive review

For those of you who are familiar with the Himalayan Charcoal Purifying glow mask; this face wash is a derivative of that. The face mask received (literally) glowing reviews, and The Body Shop is now extending the product line to a matching face wash.

The Himalayan Charcoal Purifying face wash is not yet available to purchase, not even for consultants. Luckily I managed to receive one last month as I hit a sales target. Here is my exclusive review;

The review

I absolutely love the Himalayan Charcoal face mask; the smell is holistic and spa-like, and it leaves skin feeling revitalised. I’ve got combination skin that can be very oily in places, the charcoal compounds help to combat the oiliness. Inspired by Ayurvedic traditions, the real flakes of Charcoal in the face mask provide gentle, natural exfoliation revealing a lovely glow. It’s a brilliant face mask that is extensively popular within the beauty community, I can see why The Body Shop have launched the everyday face wash.

The face wash is in many ways similar to the original face mask, it is grey in colour but the consistency is more of a gentle exfoliating wash than a mask. I love that the same smell and feel has carried over. And I’m fond of the fact the face wash really is gentle enough to use daily. Again, I think this face wash would be great for anyone who suffers with oily / combination skin. The Charcoal is great for exfoliating and fighting oily patches and it provides a mattifying effect that is non drying.

The Himalayan Charcoal face wash is also 100% Vegan. It’s encouraging that on the back of the container, there are details of where the product ingredients are ethically sourced from. In this case it’s community trade Tea Tree Oil from Kenya, which would partially explain the holistic, relaxing smell the face wash has. Including these details really makes the brand transparent in what they do, and it portrays that they care where their ingredients come from.

I would highly recommend this face wash to anyone who is looking for a new daily fave. I believe it would be particularly beneficial to those who suffer with oily or combination skin.

The Himalayan Charcoal face wash is not yet available in The Body Shop stores. It is launching for independent consultants on 1st January 2019. If you are interested in purchasing please private message me.
