One consistent thing I have been seeing across social media since lockdown started is statuses confessing that people’s skin is breaking out. Now I have to say, my skin has been quite bad since being inside the house (and I haven’t been wearing make up, which is a revolution for me). There our various factors that could be influencing our skin: lack of exercise, stress, changing your diet – and for me, the constant touching of my face (I’ve tried everything and I can’t stop, it’s a weird addiction I never realised I had). In order to combat your skin breakouts and irritation during this time, it’s even more important to adopt a consistent skincare routine with glow enhancing products.
The Vitamin C Glow Boosting Moisturiser from The Body Shop is one of their best selling products. It costs £16 for a 30ml sized container, and the cream contains Vitamin C rich camu camu from the Amazonian rainforest, Peru.
This lightweight gel moisturiser claims to enhance complexion to reveal a natural looking glow.
How does it perform?
We know that Vitamin C is a staple part of our diets, and it also has many skin benefits when applied directly through products. It’s suitable for all skin types, it’s super hydrating and it helps to even out skin tone and reduce hyperpigmentation. Brilliant all round!
After using the moisturiser, which smells so natural and amazing (like most of The Body Shop products) my skin does look brightened. Vitamin C also boosts collagen production, and I did notice the hydration of my skin and fine lines were much improved even after just a few uses.
After researching how Vitamin C can really benefit the skin I would recommend this moisturiser to everyone on lockdown. It’s one of the safest ingredients that rarely causes adverse reactions, so even if you have terribly temperamental and sensitive skin like me – you should be able to reap the rewards of Vitamin C!
Of course you will need to incorporate this moisturiser into your skincare routine in order to maximise it’s potential; the double cleanse, tone, serum and moisturise routine works a treat for me.
If you are looking for that quarantine glow – this is your ingredient, this is your product.
